A key role of UKCRC is to deliver responses to government consultations within our areas of expertise and to lead on policy and strategy related to computing research in the UK.

UKCRC members also lead initiatives to shape the future of the discipline.

UKCRC supports the engagement of the research community with periodic initiatives such as the UK Research Evaluation Framework (REF 2021). 

Submissions to UK Government

UKCRC responds to relevant UK Government consultations both as an expert panel of the IET, BCS, CPHC, and in its own right.

Grand Challenges

UKCRC Archive of the Grand Challenges Exercise, an enterprise of the UKCRC to discuss possibilities and opportunities for the advancement of computing research, particularly in the UK.

Informing REF panel

UKCRC is a nominating body for the UK Research Evaluation Framework, which is the UK’s system for assessing the quality of research in UK higher education institutions.
