We will be joined by Femi Fadugba, who will be speaking about his debut novel The Upper World, a sci-fi thriller that explores London gang culture, inspired by Femi’s own experiences of holding a Quantum Physics Masters juxtaposed with living on a London estate.
Extending the themes of the novel, we will be discussing free will versus destiny, the physics of time travel, and the fight for a better future.
The Upper World is being adapted for film by Netflix, starring Academy Award winner Daniel Kaluuya. Femi will speak about what this success has been like and will be answering your questions; so, what will you ask?
For the first episode of The IET Bookshelf, we were joined by guest speaker, engineer and futurist, Brian David Johnson. We discussed his latest book: The Future You.
