Share your views on the culture of the engineering profession with the Royal Academy of Engineering

The Academy has commissioned DJS Research, an independent market research agency, to undertake an in-depth research study into the current working culture in engineering.

This will build upon and bring up-to-date the first review the Academy conducted in 2017, which culminated in the first “Creating cultures where all engineers thrive” report. Much has changed in the field since then and the Academy is looking to assess what changes can be identified since the original research.

The two questions the survey is seeking to answer are:

  1. To what extent do engineers with different diversity characteristics feel included within the profession?
  2. Has the way in which engineers with different diversity characteristics feel changed since 2017?

By taking part, you’ll contribute to gaining a better understanding of the culture of the profession, and ways in which things can be improved. You can read more about the Academy’s work on inclusive cultures on its website.

The survey is open now and will close on Friday 1 July 2022. It should take around 15 minutes to complete.

The results and recommendations from the survey will be available from the Academy in the Autumn of 2022.

The survey is now closed.
