Advance your career

Having short and long-term career goals can also help you to focus on your next career move and how to get there.

From building industry contacts as an IET Volunteer to achieving professional recognition with our Professional Development support, here’s how we can help you progress in your career.

Gain international professional recognition with Professional Registration

It’s never too early in your career to start thinking about Professional Registration, we’ve already debunked that myth!

Becoming professionally registered means international recognition of your competence and commitment to professionalism – and could even lead to improved career opportunities and salary prospects.

A number of different categories are available:

  1. Chartered Engineer
  2. Incorporated Engineering
  3. Engineering Technician and
  4. ICT Technician.

Once you’ve achieved professional registration, you’ll be able to use designatory letters, such as CEng or EngTech, that are recognised by employers and can help you towards your next promotion.

If you’ve kept a record of job roles, projects and any professional training or qualifications so far with Career Manager, it makes applying that bit easier.

However, if you’re still unsure about the application process or just need a bit of extra help, get one-to-one assistance by signing up for our Guided Registration Support.
