Delivering a smart and secure electricity system: implementation

The Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ) has launched a consultation on "Delivering a smart and secure electricity system: implementation".

The Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ) are seeking views on new standards for energy smart appliances and organisations which provide demand side response services or can remotely control electrical load.

There are three sections to this consultation:

  1. The Energy Smart Appliances (ESA) paper, which sets out proposals on a set of minimum standards for ESA’s.
  2. The Licencing Regime paper, that sets out proposals on the type of organisations that require a load control licence, requirements around consumer protections, and framework and design principles for cyber security.
  3. The Time of Use Tariff paper, that sets out the scope of a tariff data standard for energy suppliers and proposed regulatory and delivery solutions

The IET Board of Trustees has decided to respond to the following consultation and will accept responses from IET members including Member, Fellow, Honorary Fellow, Student, and Associate. Please provide your membership number with your consultation response.

The IET is seeking to respond to the consultation and would welcome your views and comments on the questions posed.
