Eat, sleep, engineer, repeat: tune in for this year’s President’s Address

Julian will challenge you to think about how the engineering profession can make a positive impact on the next generation, drawing on his experiences of working with engineers, technicians and apprentices: institutionalising professionalisation, operationalising STEM, embedding digitalisation and squeezing sustainability. You’ll think about some of the big challenges within the profession, including:

  • What is the role of engineers as influencers and drivers of a sustainable, digital world?
  • How do we ensure that we learn from and mentor each generation of engineers – both ahead of us and following on?
  • What can engineers do more of to support 21st century society, promote an ethical and diverse profession and help solve the big societal challenges?

And at 6.30pm the same day, Julian will be joined by the most recent Past President, Professor Danielle George MBE, for a fireside chat, to talk all things engineering. The chat will be hosted by the 2020 Young Woman Engineer of the Year, Ella Podmore.
