Celebrating our Volunteers on International Volunteer Day

Sunday, 5 November was International Volunteer Day, a day of recognition mandated by the United Nations General Assembly and an opportunity for us to celebrate our volunteers and their invaluable contribution to our charitable objectives. 

Our volunteers are

  • facilitating educational STEM activities at schools
  • enabling engineering and technology students to network with employers and each other
  • delivering activities that are designed to promote the importance of science, engineering, and technology to the general public
  • giving young professionals a face and voice within industry and society; whilst informing and influencing Government
  • assisting members with keeping their CPD on-track
  • accrediting engineering apprenticeships, professional development schemes, and higher education programmes that deliver relevant, high-quality education
  • ensuring that engineers are firmly committed to professional standards through the registration process.

The IET simply wouldn’t achieve as much as it does without its volunteers, they are inspirational, motivated, and committed and we are truly thankful to each and every one.
