Volunteering roles available with Foothold

The IET Benevolent Fund, Foothold, is always on the lookout for new volunteers to help them deliver essential support to the engineering community.

In exchange for just a small amount of your time each year, becoming a Foothold volunteer brings a whole host of benefits, including:

  • Boosting your confidence
  • Meeting new people and growing your network
  • Gaining new skills and experience for your CV
  • Rewarding work for an international charity
  • Being part of a global community

Volunteering roles currently available include:

Foothold ambassadors: Help to raise awareness of Foothold’s work and inspire people to get involved in supporting the engineering community.

Micro volunteers: Assist with a variety of administrative and marketing tasks to increase the charity’s efficiency and performance, including social media campaigns, graphic design, research projects and more.

Support volunteers: Work alongside the Support Services Team to deliver support to struggling engineers and their families.

Service Development Committee Members: Contribute to decisions around the support available to ensure it is relevant, helpful and in the best interests of the engineering community.

Volunteering with Foothold brings with it a lot of flexibility and volunteers can contribute as little or as much time as they’d like. Most roles can be dipped in and out of and there is no minimum amount of time you must agree to, to take part.
