IET statement on Ukraine

The humanitarian crisis, affecting millions of people, is extremely distressing. The engineering and technology sectors are playing a critical role in the delivery of vital services to the people of Ukraine, including aid to those in need.

This demand is rapidly growing and it is important that we signpost to ways in which we all can help. RedR UK, a charity we work closely with, is currently running an emergency appeal to train aid workers who are rebuilding lives in Ukraine and for Ukrainian refugees in neighbouring countries. Find out how you can support their work here.

We recognise that some of our members and their families, as well as our staff working across the globe, may be affected by the conflict. Foothold, the IET’s benevolent fund, is a free and confidential support service, open to engineers and their families who need urgent help during the Ukraine crisis.  For more information visit the Foothold website and a member of Foothold’s team will be in touch. Alternatively, you can call +44 (0)7923 257 087.

We stand with Ukraine and the ongoing safety of the Ukrainian people remains paramount as we work together as a global engineering community to support the humanitarian response.
