Have you got your ticket to the UK Digital Twin Summit?

The conference aims to raise awareness of the Digital Twins and will allow attendees to catch up on the latest policy thinking on digital twins and smart cities.

Its agenda includes presentations, panels and discussions on user case studies, proof of concepts and new technologies and applications that result in successful project implementation and delivery for infrastructure and sustainable initiatives.

The IET’s Built Environment Panel is hosting a panel discussion – The real-life challenges of implementing smart sustainable cities – as part of the conference.

Major organisations across the UK are piloting smart city initiatives from infrastructure to city planning and the discussion will look at how we move beyond pilots and trials to deliver for the benefit of citizens and the environment.

A group of high-profile panellists will bring their own experiences of implementing change and discuss the policy changes needed to bring about strategic change at scale.

Panellists include:

  • Andrew Rippon, Smart City Director at the Royal Commission for AlUla,
  • Jo Evans, Director of the Smart Mobility Living Lab at TRL,
  • Simon Navin, Geospatial Services Lead at Jacobs and
  • Neil Thompson, Director at Atkins and Chair of the IET Built Environment Panel.

On 21 June, a technical workshop – Cross-sector Digital Twins: Challenges and Opportunities – will be taking place led by Paul Surin, Senior Delivery Manager and a member of our Built Environment Panel.

Participants of the workshop will be able to explore the challenge of implementing Digital Twins between the built environment and manufacturing segments, drawing on the outputs of the Apollo Protocol initiative.
