Powering Net Zero 2023 and 2024: engineering solutions to net zero

Powering Net Zero 2023, held in Glasgow, UK, brought together engineers, planners, and innovators who are passionate about finding solutions to the climate crisis. It had engaging talks from industry leaders and academics, covering topics like renewable energy, future power systems, energy storage, and electric vehicles.

The event featured parallel sessions where attendees could dive deeper into specific subjects. It also incorporated the IET Excellence and Innovation Awards, recognising outstanding achievements in engineering and technology. On site were 330 delegates from 22 countries, 11 sponsors and exhibitors, 130+ speakers, a civic reception, five parallel streams, the awards dinner plus site tours to the PNDC Centre, HVDC Centre and the First Caledonia Bus Depot.

Powering Net Zero 2023 was a significant milestone, demonstrating the power of collaboration and innovation in tackling climate change. Looking forward to Powering Net Zero 2024, we can expect even more exciting developments as the conference continues to inspire and drive progress towards a sustainable future.

Building on the success of the previous event, Powering Net Zero 2024 will take place in Birmingham from 22 to 24 October. The conference will again delve into crucial topics such as renewable power generation, future power systems, and energy storage. These discussions are essential in our journey towards a sustainable and carbon-free future.

New for 2024, the event will additionally focus on exploring the applications of hydrogen in transport, supply chain, investment, and standards.

The EVI: Charging Ahead conference will also be taking place in Birmingham in October as part of Powering Net Zero Week.
