Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

At the IET equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) are core to our value and beliefs. In turn, EDI must be embedded throughout the IET Power Academy. All partner companies must ensure fair treatment and opportunity for all and work to eradicate bias and discrimination from all decision-making processes. Equality means ensuring individuals are viewed and treated equally, often understood in terms of the protected characteristics of the UK Equality Act 2010, at the IET we encompass all diversity, anything that makes us different from others, within this definition.

Within the IET Power Academy equality of opportunity is vitally important; companies must ensure that those who may be at a disadvantage can get the tools to access the same, fair opportunities as their peers. The IET Power Academy expects all partner companies to monitor EDI in accordance with the IET’s position and their own policies.
